estate Planning and probate paralegal

 

Four Point Legal is seeking a full-time estate planning and probate paralegal (or legal assistant with a desire to gain paralegal experience) to join our hard-working team.

Your qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or training in paralegal work (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

  • At least 5 years of law firm experience, 3 of which should be in estate planning and estate administration. Additional experience with corporate/business transactions, real estate, and/or estate litigation a plus.

  • High-level knowledge of both Oregon and Washington estate planning and probate law.

  • Exceptional attention to detail.

  • Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with a variety of recipients of all types and backgrounds.

  • Competent research skills, including the ability to know when to “figure it out” and when to seek guidance.

  • Ability to focus and prioritize when faced with demanding situations.

  • Computer proficiency in basic business and legal programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

  • No ego, we work and function as a team, with everyone pitching in where needed

 

Job Type: Full-time

 

your duties:

  • Communicate regularly with clients, family members, trustees, and other professionals regarding all aspects of estate planning and probate matters and related issues with confidence and professionalism.

  • Prepare estate planning documents (trusts, wills, powers of attorney, etc.).

  • Assist with revocable trust funding, including preparation of deeds, assignments, and change of ownership documents.

  • Preparation of probate pleadings and accountings.

  • Manage probate/trust administration calendar and deadlines.

  • Prepare and file estate and gift tax returns, tax identification number applications, etc.

  • Determine and calendar tax deadlines. 

  • Prepare and file business formation and maintenance documents.

  • Perform other special projects and duties as assigned by the attorneys.
